Mindful that some people may actually arrive at Redruth Station and not simply depart. I asked Redruth Town Council to come up with ten things to do in Redruth. These are their suggestions:
Departing from Redruth blog: Top Ten things to do in Redruth
1. Look up. The architecture in Redruth is stunning and fascinating, sometimes you miss the things that are right in front of you.
2. Visit a Festival, event, town market, there’s always something happening in Redruth.
3. Enjoy one of the many parks, gardens or green spaces.
4. Listen to a High Street Sound Walk and explore the town's history.
5. And if history is you’re thing, wander down to Kresen Kernow, Cornwall’s Archive centre. It’s a beautiful building housing thousand of artefacts, family history and has a great café!
6. Explore the shops, there’s plenty to discover from thrift stores, art galleries and independent businesses – you’ll find some hidden gems here!
7. Watch a film at the Regal Cinema, they have a great restaurant with some fab movie deals included.
8. Walk to the outskirts of town and you’re soon in the countryside, from mining history, ancient castles to hills with panoramic views, there’s plenty to discover.
9. Enjoy lunch, cake or dinner at any of the great cafes and restaurants that Redruth has to offer.
10. Although it’s a fair walk from town, if you like engineering, locomotives and working engines, then the Mosley Heritage Museum is a great place to visit and it’s free! (Donations welcome).
